The masterclass
Lanzarote, in depth
In Lanzarote, vines grow where it seems impossible: in pits dug into volcanic ash and sheltered from the wind by stone walls. It is one of the most unique wine regions in the world.
Visiting a winery tells you about that winery's wine. This masterclass tells you about the whole island's: why it is grown this way, which grapes grow here and how wine is lived in Lanzarote, with a guided tasting of the wines to check it for yourself.
Soil and climate
Volcanic ash, basalt, wind and little rain: how the land shapes every wine.
The island's grape varieties
The grapes that grow in Lanzarote and how to recognise them in the glass.
Growing systems
Pits, trenches and stone walls: the viticulture of La Geria.
Local culture and the table
The history of wine on the island and its link with gastronomy and customs.
